After practice, running back Treshaun Ward and offensive tackle Darius Washington spoke to the media to discuss the Notre Dame game and FSU’s success in the ground game. Here’s some of what each had to say:

Ward on the emotions of scoring late in a big moment: “When I scored and I see everybody stand up and congratulating me and cheering me on, it was a great feeling. The crowd played a big thing in our Sunday night game. That’s the type of stuff we need.”

On the success in the run game: “We were the most conditioned team. When it got down to the third and fourth quarter, they started to get worn out. Us being the conditioned team we are, we kept tempoing it and we just locked in. Everybody brought up everybody.”

Washington on the Notre Dame game, what the ‘Noles showed: “Sunday, it felt great to be back out with the guys. We worked all spring and summer long and throughout fall camp to be ready for the moment and get ready for that game and it showed. I feel like we have a lot more to show.”

On having a full off-season coming into the 2021 season: “Everybody’s big and strong at this level, you need your strength, but you need your technique as well. I did feel a change in my body, putting on weight and getting stronger.”
