Florida State continued to replenish its roster today, adding a big body on the edge to help out the defense. The Seminoles were the first program to offer Tre Lawson, a three-star defensive end from North Augusta, South Carolina, and they’ll get the last laugh, as well. Lawson verbally commitment to the ‘Noles today after making his official visit to Tallahassee this weekend.
Lawson goes 6-6, 247, and is the No. 33 strong-side defensive end in the class of 2017, along with being the No. 7 player from the Palmetto State. He’ll help bolster FSU’s top-five recruiting class, which is presently the top group in the ACC. Recruited by Brad Lawing, Lawson had been committed to Tennessee for a good portion of 2016 before decommitting in December.
In addition to his opportunities with the ‘Noles and Vols, Lawson also has offers from USC, Louisville, Ole Miss, Georgia, Oregon, Mississippi State, South Carolina, and Kentucky, among others.
