Florida State will have a handful of targets and commits sign their letters of intent during the first day of the new early signing period on Wednesday. The window for players to sign is open until Friday night, when the window closes until National Signing Day in February.
Below are the times, in chronological order, that Florida State’s Early Signing Day commits and targets will be signing. You can click here for a live tracker of where all the recruits have signed.
Four-star RB James Cook: 10:00 AM EST
The one time Florida State commit, James Cook will decide whether to keep his current pledge to Georgia or follow in his brother’s footsteps to FSU. Cook has announced that he will decide between UGA and FSU while still currently committed to Georgia which hints that FSU is still very in the picture.
Four-star QB Emory Jones: 11:30 AM EST
Jones took official visits to Florida and Florida State this past weekend with Tallahassee being the latter of the two trips. 247 Sports crystal balls have heavily favored UF in the past few days, however no one truly knows where the current Ohio State commit will land.
Five-star QB Justin Fields: 12:00 PM EST
Arguably the most coveted prospect in the 2018 recruiting class, Fields is currently a Georgia commit, however with the decommitment of Matt Corral at UF and coaching change at FSU, albeit the chances are minimal, he could wind up outside of his home state of Georgia. Fields visited Florida State back over the summer, but hasn’t been back since. Expect him to sign with UGA, barring some apocalyptical type event.
Four-star LB Amari Gainer (commit): 3:00 PM
Gainer has been 100% Florida State for quite some time. When Jimbo Fisher left, Gainer had official visits scheduled to other schools, however he ultimately did not make any of those trips. Gainer has been active on social media, doing his best to recruit other top prospects to Tallahassee.
Three-star OL Christian Armstrong (commit): 3:00 PM
Armstrong, another solid Florida State commit, will make his pledge official at 3 PM. Willie Taggart and company went in-home with the Georgia product earlier in December.
Five-star DB Jaiden Woodbey: 8:30 PM EST
Woodbey, a California product, visited Florida State this past weekend. Many have predicted Woodbey to commit to in-state USC, however with Florida State getting his last visit, the ’Noles aren’t completely out of the running. It would be quite the flip for Woodbey to sign with Florida State just eight days after receiving his offer.
Four-star DB Isaiah Bolden: Friday
Bolden had originally committed to Florida State before decommitting and repledging to Oregon. Early in December, the Zephyrhills (Fla.) Wesley Chapel student decommitted from Oregon and Florida State is once again a heavy 247 Sports crystal ball favorite.
