You can certainly argue as to whether or not Florida State really “lost” Jimbo Fisher. After all, many FSU fans were more than happy to get out from under Fisher’s bloated contract and infuse some new life into the program during the course of what wound up being a 6-6 regular season.
However, it cannot be argued that the current uncertainty as to the Seminoles’ next head coach has lost Florida State some recruits— specifically, FSU has had five players decommit in the last week. Three former 2018 commits dropped the ’Noles on Wednesday, and then 2019 commit Wanya Morris decommited as well.
And today, 2018 defensive end prospect Patrick Joyner joined that ever-growing list, as he decided to part ways with the ’Noles, too. FSU will probably see a recruiting bump when it does finally announce its new head coach; these recent recruiting woes underscore how that needs to happen sooner rather than later.
