Florida State has had a busy week on the recruiting trail— and not in a good way. Three-star receiver Antoine Green announced that he has decommitted from Florida State, making him the sixth recruit to do so since last Sunday.
The Rockledge (Fla.) Rockledge senior product is ranked No. 479 in the country, No. 80 among receivers and No. 80 prospect in Florida. He had been committed to Florida State since July 4th and has a total of 32 offers. One of those schools is Oregon, where Florida State head coach target Willie Taggart currently is. That could come into play if the former Western Kentucky and USF head coach does indeed wind up in Tallahassee.
With the loss, Florida State’s 2018 recruiting class now has 12 total commitments and ranks 22nd in the nation. Before the week leading up to Jimbo Fisher’s departure from Florida State, the ’Noles class ranked inside the top 10 nationally according to 247 composite rankings.
I wanna say thanks to coach Fisher , coach Trickett and Coach Dawsey , but I’ve decided to decommit from Florida State University and reopen my recruitment .— Antoine Green (@_yg_qualified) December 4, 2017
