Just weeks after National Signing Day, Florida State has shifted focus ahead to its 2018 recruiting class with the first of two Junior Days taking place on Saturday. This event proved fortuitous for the Seminoles when they landed a commitment from three-star defensive end Kayode Oladele.
Oladele, who plays at Miami (Fla.) Edison and sports an impressive 6’4 235-pound frame, was offered by FSU on February 9th, just over a week before his Junior Day visit. While visiting Tallahassee on Saturday, he decided to commit to the ‘Noles.
He previously visited FSU when he participated in Jimbo Fisher Football Camp last summer but had seemed a Miami lean, taking four official visits to the nearby Hurricanes over the previous 12 months.
Oladele may only be rated as a three-star, the No. 660 overall player, No. 22 strong-side defensive end, and No. 103 player from Florida in the 2018 recruiting class, but holds some solid offers. He holds 14 scholarship offers in all from the likes of Georgia, Miami, Tennessee, Wisconsin, Florida, Mississippi State, and South Carolina, among others.
Oladele is Florida State’s first defensive end commit in its 2018 recruiting class and just the third defensive player along with cornerback Isaiah Bolden and defensive tackle Robert Cooper.
