Late Wednesday night, 2018 DB Jonathan Huggins from Daytona Beach (Fla.) Mainland committed to Florida State, according to Chris Nee of Noles247.

The 6’2 200 lb. recruit is ranked the No. 1599 overall player according to 247 Composite Rankings as well as the No. 114 safety and No. 223 player in Florida.

The Seminoles first offered Huggins in May of 2017, one of his 29 total offers. Some of those other schools include UCF, Wake Forest, VT, Syracuse, UConn, Colorado State, Purdue and Missouri among others.

Huggins was at Jimbo Fisher Football Camp on Wednesday, his first time on campus. Rick Trickett was the FSU recruiter working to get the young player’s pledge.

Florida State’s 2018 recruiting class remains at the No. 7 rank in the country and No. 2 in the ACC. Huggins is the third defensive back to commit to the Garnet and Gold in the 2018 class, joining four-stars Anthony Lytton and Asante Samuel Jr., both who are projected corner backs. In total, FSU has 11 commitments from the 2018 class.
