Florida State’s 2018 recruiting class got even better Friday as Verdis Brown, visiting campus with his family, committed to the Seminoles. Brown, originally from Chicago, is one of the top offensive line recruits in the country, and rates as the No. 2 center nationally by 247Sports, though he is also capable of playing guard.
After long thought, prayers, and visits - first, I would like to thank God for blessing me with this awesome opportunity. I would like to thank my family - especially my parents for supporting and going through this journey with me. Thanks to Coach Wright as well for helping with this decision, to all schools that gave me a chance to play the game of football, and to all of you who supported me in this process. I would like everyone to know I'm officially committed to Florida State University!! #GoNOLES #Seminoles
FSU landed Brown over offers from Ohio State, Tennessee, LSU, Oklahoma, UCLA, and others. Brown is 6’3 and weighs 294 pounds. He is the third offensive linemen in the class, joining Christian Armstrong and Christian Meadows, of Georgia.
Some at IMG Academy believe Brown is their best lineman.
