Florida State football recruiting: High School recap

Florida State commits and targets in action.

NCAA Football: Clemson at Florida State Melina Vastola-USA TODAY Sports

Welcome back to another week of updates on Florida State recruits and targets' performances in the last week's games.

We’ll begin this week with the same player that we have started several of these recaps with, Justin Fields. The 2018 quarterback target was his team’s offense this past week, in Harrison’s 27-10 win over Allatoona. Fields accounted for 255 yards of Harrison’s 279 total yards. He had 102 rushing yards with two touchdown rushes to go with 153 passing yards and two touchdown passes. Check out this dime Fields’ tosses on the run:

Sticking with quarterback targets, 2019 target Grant Gunnell, had a record setting night. Gunnell completed 29 passes for 503 yards and 10 touchdowns. Yes, you read that right, 10 touchdown passes in one game. For the season, through 3 games, Gunnell has thrown for 1,576 yards, 23 touchdowns, and no interceptions.

One of Gunnell’s favorite targets is 2019 wide receiver commit, Jalen Curry. Of Gunnell’s 10 touchdown passes in the game, two of them went to Curry in the 69-16 blowout.

Charles Strong, a 2018 running back commit, had a beast mode night in Union County’s 28-14 win over Baldwin. Strong rushed for 298 yards and three touchdowns.

Another running back commit that had a strong game this past week was 2018 commit, Jashaun Corbin. In Rockledge’s 35-21 loss to Osceola, Corbin rushed for 107 yards and a touchdown.

Florida State’s top rated recruit for 2018 is defensive back, Anthony Lytton. This past week, Lytton had two receptions for 51 yards and a touchdown in Dr Henry Wise’s 51-0 shutout of Laurel.

That’s it for this week. If you know of any other information, let us know in the comments. Keep checking back each week for updates on #Tribe18 and the future.
