It was a big final weekend for recruiting visits at FSU before National Signing Day, and equally momentous results played out for the ’Noles. The Seminoles flipped and have now signed former Kentucky commit Xavier Peters, a top linebacker prospect for the class of 2018.
Peters is a four-star recruit from West Chester, Ohio, an area that could prove a more fertile recruiting ground for the ’Noles, given the roots of new defensive coordinator Harlon Barnett in the Buckeye State. The nation’s No. 12 linebacker for the class of 2018, Peters turned heads at the Under Armour All-America Game. LBs coach Raymond Woodie and DL coach Odell Haggins were also prominent figures in his recruitment to Florida State. He presently measures in at 6-4, 225.
A long list of schools have been after Peters’ services. In addition to the Seminoles and Wildcats, he also had offers from Alabama, Florida, Georgia, LSU, Oklahoma, USC, Michigan State, and Texas, among others.
