4-star defensive end Curtis Fann signs with Florida State

The Seminoles land a blue-chip defensive end.

Four-star defensive end Curtis Fann has signed his National Letter of Intent to enroll at Florida State University.

The 6’2, 251 lb defensive end, from Emanuel County Institute High School in Twin City, Georgia, has been committed to FSU since June. Fann played both tight end and defensive end for Emanuel County but will strictly be a defensive end at Florida State.

Early in his recruitment, Fann was considered a lean to South Carolina, but as his recruitment picked up he was also pursued by Louisville, Alabama, Auburn, and Clemson. He visited both the ’Noles and the Cardinals before he committed to FSU on his second unofficial visit.

Fann uses his heavy hands to shed blockers, likes to finish violently, and can even bend the edge to get to the quarterback.

The 247Sports Composite has him ranked as the 20th-best strong-side defensive end in the country and a top-300 player nationally.
