When it comes to QBs, the Elite 11 is just that: the best of the best. They may as well call this gathering of heralded signal-callers Top Gun. And Florida State has once again placed a verbal commitment among the ranks of this prestigious event.
’Nole commit Sam Howell (6’1, 225) of Monroe (Sun Valley), North Carolina, is the latest FSU quarterback commit to join what has become a long list of future Florida State signees in this top-notch showdown of high-school talent.
It’s been a minute since a future Seminole QB took part in the Elite 11 competition, but FSU still has a rich tradition therein. Malik Henry was selected in 2015. Deondre Francois participated in 2014. In 2011, Jameis Winston was a Co-MVP pick when the dust settled. 2007 saw E.J. Manuel chosen, and Drew Weatherford competed in 2003. Adrian McPherson made the cut in 2000, as did Chris Rix in 1999.
The first 11 out of 24 QB's have punched their ticket to the #Elite11 Finals.
