Florida State has made the Top-5 for the No. 1 recruit in the nation, Kayvon Thibodeaux announced Friday night.
Out of Thousand Oaks (Calif.) Oaks Christian, Thibodeaux is 6’5, 240, and a fearsome pass rusher at that size. He holds more than 40 offers.
“Going back to my visit, I had a great time there and really like coach Taggart a lot. Since that visit, I’ve talked to a ton of people about him and they love him and the direction the program is going in.
“Tallahassee is a great city and I really fit in well there. I love the people and just my comfort level on that trip was really high. I also really like coach Snyder (DL coach) and they’re showing me a lot of love right now. I think they can develop me and make me a better player and person.” — Thibodeaux to 247Sports ($).
Florida State currently has six defensive linemen committed, but two are either not expected to sign with the Seminoles, or play another position more suited to their skills. A full breakdown of the defensive line board can be found here.
Willie Taggart and his staff built the initial relationship with Thobideaux while coaching at Oregon.
Alabama, Florida, Oregon, and USC round out his list. Sources believe Alabama and FSU are the main competition.
