FSU football recruits react on social media to the Seminoles’ disheartening loss at Syracuse

The future of Florida State football isn’t giving up, so what’s your excuse?

Following Florida State’s disheartening 30-7 loss to the Orange on Saturday, the ’Noles 2018 season appears to be in a state of flux. In a year that starts as badly as FSU’s has, it’s natural to see everything through a negative lens. Many fans are surely wondering what impact the last three games have had on recruiting and worrying about recruits looking to take their talents elsewhere. A quick search on Twitter, however, paints a different picture and if there is any certainty to uncover in FSU’s unforeseeable future, it appears to be found within Taggart’s 2019 recruiting class that currently cracks the top-10 in the latest class rankings.

The future Seminoles are using their social media to weigh in on the current team’s woes and it seems that they understand how their impact may eventually contribute to the future success of the program.

See their reactions below.

2019 4-star safety commit Nick Cross shared a post that resonated well with his future teammates.

2019 4-star safety Brendan Gant retweeted Cross’s post

2019 4-star DE Curtis Fann shared Cross’s tweets as well.

2019 4-star OG Dontae Lucas

2019 4-star CB Travis Jay

2019 4-star DE Quashon Fuller

2019 4-star QB Sam Howell

2019 4-star DE Derick Hunter Jr.

Danny Kanell put out a message for FSU fans that many recruits shared onto their twitter timelines.

Besides Nick Cross, 2019 4-star OL Charles Cross liked Kanell’s message and 2020 DB Demorie Tate retweeted Kanell in support.

It is important to remember that in recruiting, relationships often mean more than results on the field. Obviously, FSU’s coaches need to prove that they can develop recruits into the best versions of themselves and in some cases, prepare players for a career in the NFL. But beyond the scoreboard, recruits and their families need to trust the coaches in developing them holistically as well. Recruits have consistently marveled at Willie Taggart’s ability to connect with them, to relate to them on multiple levels.

Willie Taggart has a reputation as an ace recruiter, but that reputation may be significantly tested if the results on the field don’t change.
