Florida State entered the final weekend before the Early Signing Period with zero commits at the defensive end position. That all changed this morning when Josh Griffis flipped his commitment from Louisville back to Florida State. The Seminoles defensive end position lacks depth, making this commitment even more important.
Coach Mike Norvell and the Florida State staff were able to convince Griffis to visit Tallahassee this past weekend. While on campus, Griffis was able to meet with Norvell and new defensive coordinator Adam Fuller. The meetings must have went well, as Griffis is now a Seminole.
Once committed to Florida, the 3-star defensive end was also previously committed to FSU. He decommitted during the coaching search and committed to the Cardinals after visiting Louisville. Griffis is listed at 6’4, 245 and is from IMG Academy in Florida. In addition to the ’Noles, Cards, and Gators, Griffis also had offers from Penn State, Nebraska, Purdue, West Virginia, Indiana, Georgia Tech, Pitt, and other schools.
