Longtime Florida State commit Stephen Dix Jr. made it official and signed with the Seminoles during the early signing period.
Dix — who has been committed since February 2019 — is ranked as a four-star prospect on 247Sports and the 19th rated outside linebacker recruit in the country. He hails from Dr. Phillips High School in Orlando, which produced NFL players like Ha Ha Clinton-Dix, Marcell Harris and former FSU star Kenny Shaw.
After Mike Norvell was named Florida State’s head coach, Dix took an official visit to Tallahassee where he locked down his recruitment.

Dix will step into a linebacker room at Florida State that is sorely in need of playmakers. Emmett Rice and Amari Gainer combined for 129 tackles this season, but there will be plenty of playing time available in FSU’s defense.
At 6-foot-2, 210-pounds, Dix has the size to make an immediate impact on campus. If nothing else, he will be a valuable special teams contributor during his first year in Tallahassee.
