Florida State and Mike Norvell got a critical win in recruiting and signed defensive tackle Emanuel Rogers to kick off the Early Signing Period.
Rogers — who has been committed to FSU since July 2019 — is ranked as the No. 32 defensive tackle in the class and hails from Jensen Beach, Florida.
Norvell made Rogers one of his first stops on the recruiting trail shortly after taking over as FSU’s head coach. Rogers made a return trip to Tallahassee in December, where he locked down his recruitment.

At Florida State, Rogers steps into a defensive line rotation sorely in need of playmakers. Marvin Wilson is widely expected to move on to the NFL and FSU’s second-highest contributor on the defensive line (Cory Durden) only produced 4.5 sacks on the year.
Rogers — who also played for his high school’s varsity basketball team — is relatively raw as a recruit and did not start playing football until his junior year.
