FSU’s lone tight end commit was a Willie Taggart commit, but after last weekend’s visit to FSU and talking to Mike Norvell he shut down his recruitment.
My recruitment is 100% shut down. I will sign with Florida State University Wednesday, December 18th @ 9 am in the CCHS cafeteria. #BLESSED pic.twitter.com/5YQMwRHGc4

On Wednesday morning, Boatwright was one of the first NLI’s signed for Norvell. Norvell is currently the only TE signed in the class, but FSU could seek other commits out of the JUCO arena. With a pro style offense that features multiple TE’s at times, the TE position will be a key for Norvell moving forward after Boatwright gets him started.
The Georgia native comes from Moultrie, GA and Colquitt County high school. The TE is FSU’s lowest rated recruit by 247, but has lots of room to grow and could be critical in Norvell’s FSU offense down the road. Boatwright is currently ranked the 51st TE in the 2020 recruiting class.
The GA native is already 6’5 and weighs 225 pounds. His height makes him a tough matchup for many defenders to guard and added muscle would make him a tough blocker to get through. Boatwright will have to add some weight and muscle to his frame before making an impact at FSU.
Carter Boatwright plans on early enrolling at FSU and joining the team in January. This should speed up the process of fulfilling his frame before his freshman season.
