Florida State football, recruiting news: A final blow to #Tribe19

FSU loses a key piece of its 2019 recruiting class.

Recruiting:

Former Florida State commit, and blue-chip safety prospect, Nick Cross signed with the University of Maryland on Tuesday. His recruitment ends almost a week after National Signing Day, as there were reported differences in school choice between Cross and his parents.

2020 quarterback commit Jeff Sims received his invitation to play in the Under Armour All-America Game.

2020 safety prospect Kourt Williams II received an offer from Florida State. He plays for St. John Bosco in Bellflower, CA.

Shortly after the FSU offer, Williams picked up another one from Oklahoma.

4-star 2020 running back Jo’Quavious Marks also picked up an offer from the Seminoles yesterday. Marks plays at Carver High School in Atlanta, GA.

Additionally, 2020 defensive lineman Timothy Brown from Dwyer High School in Palm Beach Gardens, FL got his offer on Tuesday, as well.

2021 QB Dematrius Davis will visit 6 schools, 1 of which will be FSU.

Football:

Athlon Sports ranked the 10 best recruiting classes since 2005, and one of Florida State’s most important classes ever made the cut.

Florida defensive coordinator Todd Grantham is interviewing for the open DC job in Cincinnati.
