The returns from Florida State’s first 2019 Junior Day have been quite positive, and now the Seminoles have a commitment to boot. And from a quarterback, no less, as QB Jeff Sims has verbally committed to FSU, per Josh Newberg of Noles 247. Here’s Sims confirming his commitment to members of the media:

A junior at Jacksonville’s Sandalwood High School, Sims (6’3, 195) is not yet ranked, but he’s already been on several college campuses, having taken trips to UCF (twice) and Georgia, while camping at Miami and Florida and also getting a visit from Penn State.
Sims is a prostyle signal-caller who was recruited to Florida State by new offensive coordinator Kendal Briles and offensive line coach Greg Frey, who offered him just eight days ago. He also has offers from UGA, LSU, Tennessee, Penn State, Louisville, Virginia Tech, Boston College, UCF, and USF, along with others. The commitment of Sims is FSU’s fifth for its 2020 class, which is presently ranked third in the ACC and 11th, nationally— but those placements will improve when Sims gets ranked.
