Madison County offensive tackle Zane Herring has committed to Florida State. Long considered a FSU lean he decided to end the process today and commit to #Tribe20. Teammate of FSU signee Travis Jay, Herring is a talented offensive tackle and at 6’5 300lbs he’s capable of playing multiple positions along the offensive line.
In a day where four-star offensive tackle targets Isaiah Walker Jr & Joshua Braun were also on campus it was Zane Herring Day at FSU. Herring is the first offensive lineman to join FSU’s 2020 recruiting class but he won’t be the last as FSU has cast a wide net for its offensive line recruiting board; particularly at offensive tackle.
Herring ranks 448th nationally, 39th at his position, and 68th within the state of Florida in the early 2020 247 Composite Rankings. He chose FSU over offers from Georgia Tech, Tennessee, Pittsburgh, UCF and others.
Look for Herring to shift his focus to recruiting for FSU as he is close friends with FSU target and Kentucky commit Richie Leonard.
FSU’s 2020 recruiting class ranks 13th nationally with seven commitments, four being of the blue-chip variety. It’s very early in the process so expect these ratings to change quite a few times.
