Florida State football, recruiting news: It’s recruiting season for FSU football

A flurry of offers get extended, and the men’s basketball team loses a key piece for next season.

Recruiting:

FSU has made the top 6 for 2020 defensive end recruit Reggie Grimes. Grimes is a 5-star recruit that plays for Mount Juliet High School in Mount Juliet, TN.

2020 blue-chip offensive lineman Jonathan Denis seemed to have a good time during his visit to Tallahassee for the spring game. Denis plays for South Dade High School in Homestead, FL.

The Seminoles extended an offer to 2020 tight end prospect Blake Smith on Tuesday. Smith plays for Southlake Carroll High in Southlake, TX.

Canadian TE Theo Johnson also snagged an offer from the ’Noles. Johnson is a 4-star, 2020 recruit that plays for Holy Names High School in Windsor, ON.

2021 DE Tunmise Adeleye also took to Twitter to show off his Florida State offer. Adeleye is currently enrolled at Tompkins High School in Katy, TX.

2020 QB commit, and dedicated recruiter, Jeff Sims is ready to get on campus next year.

Football:

Among other things, penalties plagued the Florida State offense in 2018, but it was an area in which the Seminoles seemed to show improvement during last weekend’s spring game.

Other Sports:

Florida State forward Mfiondu Kabengele has declared for the 2019 NBA Draft.

FSU baseball lost their 11th-straight game against the University of Florida on Tuesday night.
