4-star linebacker Jayion McCluster, from Largo High School in Largo, FL, has announced his commitment to Florida State University.

While FSU has been thought to be the leader for McCluster’s services for quite some time, the University of Miami and Auburn were also in the mix, as McCluster announced his top three early last month:

Head Coach Willie Taggart and the ’Noles won out in the end and have now added another recruit to a solid 2020 LB class that already includes Keyshawn Greene and Stephen Dix Jr.

Recently, McCluster impressed observers at the Nike Opening event in Orlando this February. It was reported that he showed nice burst in short-area situations, while also taking good angles to the football.

He is rated as the 10th-best Inside LB in the nation and the 41st-overall player in the state of Florida per the 247Sports Composite. Additionally, he is also the cousin of former Ole Miss star Dexter McCluster.

LB coach Raymond Woodie was a major factor in his recruitment.
