The Seminoles got hot on the recruiting trail this weekend, locking down a trio of commits after their Saturday Night Live event in Tallahassee. New to the Florida State fold are 2020 offensive linemen Lloyd Willis and Thomas Shrader, as well as defensive end Morven Joseph. And now a top-tier 2021 prospect is showing interest as well, in the form of five-star quarterback Jake Garcia.
Garcia (6’1.5, 188) from Narbonne High School in Harbor City, California, released a top 10 on Monday, and it includes FSU, along with Arizona State, LSU, Auburn, Miami, Florida, San Jose State, Tennessee, Georgia, and USC. SJSU sticks out on this list as the one-of-these-teams-is-not-like-the-others inclusion, and that probably has a lot to due with loyalty, since the Spartans were the first to offer Garcia.
Garcia is currently ranked as the No. 3 player from the Golden State in 2021, the fourth best prostyle QB in the country for that year, and the No. 18 overall player in the country for ’21. And just as the Cali-to-Tally connection is by no means unheard of, so does this relationship have some history, already. The Seminoles offered Garcia on July 21, 2018, and he made an unofficial visit to FSU on April 18, 2019.
Although things can change, these are the schools I will be taking a closer look at. Thank you to all the coaches that have recruited me pic.twitter.com/5uaeJA7PS2
