The Seminoles have been on the rise in recruiting since their Saturday Night Live event. FSU has landed several key commits and has soared into the top 10 in recruiting class rankings, with verbal pledges from Jaylan Knighton, Lawrance Toafili, Morven Joseph, Lloyd Willis, and Thomas Shrader. Their hot streak continued Sunday afternoon when 5-star outside linebacker Sav’ell Smalls released his top 6, which included the ‘Noles.

The number one outside linebacker visited Tallahassee in July and updated his twitter profile to a picture of himself wearing an FSU uniform. Florida State has a connection with Smalls through his former teammate and current FSU wide receiver Tre’Shaun Harrison. Smalls is an instant impact player and would most likely see the field from day one for Florida State.
This is a recruiting battle that most believe will go down to National Signing Day. FSU will need to beat out top schools like Alabama and close to home teams like Washington in order to secure the top 10 player. Florida States needs to put together a winning season with impressive on-field play if it hopes to add Smalls to an already great class.
