FSU football lands highly touted 2022 quarterback prospect Chad Mascoe

Saturday’s silver lining.

Saturday didn’t turn out the way Florida State had hoped, as the Seminoles dropped their season opener to Boise State. But the day wasn’t a complete loss for the ’Noles, who got a commitment from 2022 quarterback Chad Mascoe.

Mascoe (6’0, 220) is a prostyle passer originally from nearby Thomasville, Georgia, but he now attends IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida. He camped at FSU last summer, when he earned his offer, and has also been to Alabama and Clemson. Since he just began his sophomore year of high school, Mascoe does not yet have a composite ranking, but he is a four-star prospect, per 247 Sports, which currently considers him the nation’s top 2022 prostyle QB, and the No. 28 overall prospect for that class. But again, it’s super early in this process.

Still, he already has a nice offer list. Along with the Seminoles, Mascoe has also been offered by Florida, Georgia, Auburn, Tennessee, South Carolina, Georgia Tech, and Southern Miss.
