Florida State’s momentum on the recruiting trail continued Wednesday evening, when four-star running back Lawrance Toafili committed to the Seminoles. Toafili had flirted with the ’Noles for several months before finally pulling the trigger.

“Me and my mom were doing a pros and cons list and this one edged it out,” Toafili said during his announcement. “I just felt like it was time. I kind of just wanted to focus on my senior season.”

The blue-chip running back plays at Pinellas Park out of Largo, Florida. Currently, Toafili is ranked right outside the composite top 150 on 247, although the recruiting site’s personal rankings have Toafili in their top 100 and as a top-10 running back in the nation. He also has offers from Michigan, Ohio State, and Auburn, along with others. You can see highlights from his junior year below.

Toafili is Florida State’s 21st commit for the 2020 class. He is the second running back commit for FSU, joining 4-star Jaylan Knighton. The commitment moves the Seminoles’ class into the top-10 nationally and second in the ACC. After not landing a running back commit last class, FSU now has two top-10 running backs committed for 2020.
