Future Seminoles and targets in action.

Melina Vastola-USA TODAY Sports

While it was a big weekend for Florida State’s football team, it was an ever bigger weekend for some of the Seminole’s commits and recruiting targets. Check out broken records, eye popping numbers, touchdowns and more in this week’s recap.

It was a record breaking night for running back target Daijun Edwards. The Colquitt County star broke his team’s records for career rushing yards (currently at 3,870 yards) and career touchdowns (currently at 60 touchdowns). His touchdowns on the night were a 32 yard score on the ground and he took a short pass 48 yards in his team’s victory over Grayson.

Jeff Sims had 3 touchdown passes in Sandalwood’s loss to Oakleaf. His touchdown passes included a 15 yard strike in the 4th quarter to pull within one score before Oakleaf pulled away.

Jaylan Knighton and Deerfield Beach blew out Boca Raton 49-6. The running back commit had a 40 yard touchdown run in the victory.

Sticking with running backs, fellow commit Lawrance Toafili helped lead Pinellas Park to a 52-0 shutout of Leto. Toafili rushed for 2 touchdowns and also took a kickoff to the house in the rout.

Wide receiver commit Malachi Wideman had 114 receiving yards and 2 touchdowns in Venice’s 42-7 win over Sarasota. The touchdown receptions were of 35 yards and 28 yards. Check out his touchdown in triple coverage:

Linebacker commit Keyshawn Greene had 8 tackles including a sack in Wakulla’s 35-25 victory over Godby.

Wide receiver commit Ja’Khi Douglas is Mr. Do-it-all for Terrebonne. This last week his team lost but Douglas lit up the scoreboard. Douglas rushed for 126 yards and passed for 150 yards. He threw for 2 touchdowns and rushed for 2 more in the loss.

Linebacker commit Jayion McCluster had 2 tackles for loss in Largo’s 42-31 win over Countryside. McCluster also hauled in a touchdown pass in the game.

Morven Jospeh, a 2020 defensive end commit, had 4 tackles that included a sack, in Lake Gibson’s defeat of Heritage.

That’s all that we have for this week. If you know of any other information, let us know in the comments. Keep checking back each week for updates on #Tribe20 and the future.
