Elite 2021 linebacker Barrett Carter lists FSU as focal point

Tough competition for a top target.

For 2021 outside linebacker prospect Barrett Carter, the scholarship offers began in 2018, including one from Florida State in September of last year. He’s visited Kentucky, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Duke, Alabama, and Auburn— and has coaches visiting him as well.

Former FSU defensive coordinator Charles Kelly has dropped by on behalf of the Crimson Tide, as has Ohio State’s Ryan Day. That’s the kind of attention you garner as a junior ranked the No. 6 OLB in the country. That sort of skill also means you get to release a top 11, which Carter did recently, a list that includes Florida State.

But as you can see from his graphic below, the ’Noles will have their work cut out for them if they want to land Georgia’s No. 9 player, who attends North Gwinnett High School in Suwanee. As you might expect, UGA is probably the team to beat for the four-star Carter (6’1, 210), who is currently considered the nation’s No. 101 player, overall.
