A tough loss for the ’Noles.

Florida State didn’t have any commits flip to another team during December’s Early Signing Period. However, the Seminoles’ highest ranked verbal commitment on offense, receiver Malachi Wideman, declined signing with the ’Noles. The popular maxim regarding commits who opt out of signing in December is that they aren’t really committed. And Wideman demonstrated that today, as he chose to sign with Tennessee over FSU.

Wideman (6’4, 180), a phenomenal athlete and two-sport star who also excels on the hardwood, has inked his intentions to head to Knoxville instead of Tallahassee. A product of Venice, FL, Wideman had been verbally committed to Florida State since May. He would have joined Tamorrion Terry as the tallest WRs on the ’Nole roster.
