TJ Davis got a Florida State offer just over a week ago.
Today, he’s a Seminole.
Georgia Tech was FSU’s main competition for the three-star edge out of Metter, Georgia, though he did have offers from Arizona, Kentucky and multiple Group of 5 schools.
Davis, listed at 6-foot-3, 210 pounds, lines up both at defensive end and outside linebacker, and had a recruitment that blew up in December. He flew a bit under the radar, possibly from a lower school classification and only attending one camp last summer.
Scouting report:
It takes one play into Davis film to know he’s got something about his game you will like. The effort, hustle, and violence on this play are exactly what you want from a football player. He displays these traits throughout his highlight tape.
Davis has a quick enough first step to get even with tackles on a speed rush or set up counter moves inside. For an end to be successful he has to have rush options and his first step does that. Davis also shows moments of power inside that allow him to have rushing options.
Davis is an athlete who can play in space. The intentions are for Davis to play an OLB/end role at FSU and this bodes well for his potential. Davis should be able to drop into coverage if asked to do so and not be a liability.
