Andrew Jones has Florida State No. 1

LB calls FSU his “dream school.”

Andrew Jones is 6’1 210 pound linebacker in the Class of 2021. He attends John Ehret High School (LA). He has an 88 rating (high 3*) from 247 Sports. They consider him the 18th best ILB, and the 14th best player in Louisiana.

He was at FSU earlier this week and got exactly what he was looking for:

TN had the chance to catch up with Jones:

Who joined you on the Florida State visit?

“My dad and Bijone Jackson (teammate at ‘22 OLB prospect).”

He had planned to return for FSU’s Spring Game, but that’s most likely out of the question with yesterday’s NCAA announcement.

Which FSU coaches do you speak to?

“I literally talk to all the coaches every day.”

When I followed up to specify, he said: “Coach Norvell, Coach (Adam) Fuller (DC), Coach (Chris) Marve (LB), and Coach (David) Johnson (RB, but area recruiter).” He followed up by saying all those coaches were very involved during his visit.

Even though 247 lists him as an ILB, he said the coaches at Florida State see him outside (WILL).

He said FSU is showing they want him “really bad.”

As for how quickly he could play if he chooses the Seminoles?

“I don’t know how quickly I could play. That part is up to me and how hard I work for it.”

Where does FSU stack up for you right now; would you consider them your leader?

“Yes, they are my leader. They are my dream school.”

When I asked why he considers FSU his dream school, he mentioned Deion Sanders.

As for the Seminole uniforms?

“[The] uniforms are amazing; I love the Garnet on Garnet, but that black hit different.”

(for those of you who question the black uniforms...)

What other schools is he strongly considering?

“Miami, LSU, and Arkansas.”

Even though he (most likely) won’t make it back to Tallahassee for the Spring Game, he plans to have a final decision before summer.

My final question was about his high school teammate, Kaine Williams, who is one of the top safeties nationally. Is FSU recruiting them as a package & do they ever talk about joining forces in college, as well?

He said he thinks FSU would definitely like both players in their class and “WE LITERALLY TALKED ABOUT THAT MONDAY (his emphasis, not mine). I (AJ) was like ‘imagine if we played at the same college’ and he (KW) said “Marrero boys.”

(Marrero is a suburb of New Orleans where they go to school)

We plan to get up with Williams and hear his side of the story soon!
