Florida State had two highly-rated commitments in its 2022 recruiting class. One is quarterback Chad Mascoe ranked 28th overall, and the other was Melvin Jordan IV ranked 44th overall in 247’s very early site rankings. Key word was:

As you can see the de-commitment note was very short, so we don’t know exactly why Jordan decided to pull the trigger on a separation right now.
He was one of two IMG Academy commitments before transferring to Calvary Christian High School in Clearwater, Florida for his last two years.
He committed back in June of 2019; the 6’0 205lb pounder was all in on Raymond Woodie and Willie Taggart and possibly decided to get to know new staffs without the label of ‘committed’ affecting his recruitment.
Obviously losing a player of his caliber isn’t good, but there’s no reason to believe FSU is done with Jordan, or that Jordan is done with FSU. Re-commitments are rare, but they do happen.
Mascoe is now the only 2022 kid committed to FSU.
