Florida State loses QB commit Chad Mascoe

The writing seemed to be on the wall...

First it was Jeff Sims, then it was Keyshawn Spencer, and now it’s Chad Mascoe:

Coach Mike Norvell has had no issue being honest with recruits that committed under the past regime. If the commit isn’t the right fit for the vision the staff has for Florida State, or if FSU is planning on recruiting other players at that position, Norvell has been up front, and it’s led to decommitments. That approach can enrage a fan base, but it shows Norvell has a plan and is set on executing it.

Chad Mascoe is the second 2022 decommit in the last month, following Melvin Jordan’s departure. Mascoe is currently ranked as the 11th best pro-style quarterback of the 2022 class according to 247 (291st best player). He’s set to compete for the starting quarterback position at IMG Academy this year.

With Mascoe’s decommitment, Travis Hunter is now the lone member of FSU’s 2022 class.
