Can ’Noles hang with heavy-hitters?

Shambre Jackson is a highly sought-after defensive line prospect. He stands at 6’4 243 pounds and attends Boone High School in Orlando, FL.

Jackson is a 4* (92 rating) on the 247 Sports Composite. They have him ranked 217th nationally (15th best SDE and 27th best player in Florida).

The Class of 2021 standout sports offers from Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, LSU, Miami, Nebraska, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Tennessee, and Texas A&M, among others.

He visited FSU unofficially on January 26th. Since then, he attended Jr. Days at UF (2/1) and Bama (3/7). But we’re not here to talk about the Gators or Tide. We’re talkin’ ’bout the ’Noles:

TN recently had a chance to catch up with Jackson and see where his recruitment stands:

If you don’t mind, will you start by telling us a little bit about your visit?

“I had a great time. [I] toured the campus [and] met several coaches. It was nice.”

Which coaches are you closest with at FSU and how often do they talk to you?

“Coach Adam Fuller and Coach Odell, and they talk to me at least every day.”

Did you hit it off with any coaches in particular?

“I like all of them. They are all cool people, [and] I enjoy interacting with them.”

Where on the field do they like you?

“They said I will be a DT and a DE.”

What player do you model your game after?

“Aaron Donald.”

How would you describe your game?

“[I’m] fast for my size, [but I’m also a] powerful [player, who likes to use my] hands.”

What would it mean for you to be a part of Coach Norvell’s first full recruiting class & help bring Florida State back to glory (as a Florida kid)?

“It would mean a lot.”

You mentioned liking FSU. What other schools stand out for you right now?

“Bama, UGA, LSU, Ohio State, and Oklahoma.”

Do you have plans to make a return visit to FSU?

“Maybe in the summer when the virus calms down.”
