Travious Lathan is an “athlete” from Gulliver Prep in Miami (FL).

The Class of 2022 prospect stands 6’2 190 pounds and was recently given a 91 rating (4*) and ranked the 160th player by 247 Sports (13th best OLB, and 23rd best player in Florida).

He currently holds offers from Florida State, Louisville, Miami, Nebraska, and Syracuse, among others.

He received his FSU offer in December:

He visited Florida State in March (and mentioned his eagerness to return):

TN recently caught up with Lathan and got the low-down on his recruitment:

Who accompanied you on the visit?

“My parents and my sister, Jae’lynn.”

Which Florida State coaches do you speak with?

“Coach Norvell, Coach Kenny (Dillingham), Coach (David) Johnson, and Coach Odell (Haggins).”

What was the visit like?

“First, I did a [one-on-one] tour with the recruiter director. Secondly, I did a photo shoot. Lastly, I met with Coach Johnson and Coach Norvell.”

What was the highlight of your visit?

“My meeting with Coach Norvell. He’s a great coach, but also a great mentor. FSU has been my dream school since I was like 8 attending the Jimbo Fisher Camp. I love the new coaching staff. The hospitality was great; I’m looking forward to coming back up. FSU is my top school.”

Do you have a return visit scheduled?

“It was supposed to be the Spring Game.”

Has the staff talked to you at all about a future position (247 has you listed as OLB)?

“Yes. WR. I spoke to Coach Kenny.”

Finally, we’d love a reaction to your recent ranking from 247—what’d that mean to you?

“It’s a blessing. Honestly, I didn’t expect to be ranked this early. It means that all my hard work is paying off, [but] there’s more work to be done.”
