2021 offensive line recruit ready to visit Tallahassee this weekend

One of the most important recruiting tests for Mike Norvell and his new staff is improving the talent on the offensive line. The 2021 class is their first real chance of doing so, and early in the process, one of their top options has been in-state interior lineman Jake Slaughter out of Ocala.

The 6’5” 300 pounder who attends Trinity Catholic appears to be one of the Florida State staff’s top targets early on in the cycle.

True to his name Slaughter physically dominates his opposition on the field and is an excellent finisher of plays as well.

Slaughter tells me that physically dominating opponents is one of his strengths, including his knowledge of the game. In his eyes, the main thing he needs to improve on is his mobility.

The point man in this recruitment is new offensive line coach Alex Atkins who Jake feels is “a good man who is very knowledgeable about the game.”

Jake tells me that he “really likes FSU right now” and that he has been impressed by Coach Atkins.

The main competition will be Arkansas, Ole Miss and West Virginia for Slaughter.

Slaughter will be visiting FSU during its upcoming Junior Day this Saturday.
