TN recently caught up with GG to learn more:
Who all was with you on the visit?
“My mom, dad, and little brother.”
Was this your first time at FSU?
“Yes, sir—first time on campus, and I loved it!”
What’d your family think?
“They also loved it. They thought everything about the campus and what FSU had to offer was amazing!”
What coaches do you talk to from FSU?
“Coach (Chris) Thomsen, Coach (Cooper) Williams (offensive analyst/tight ends), Coach (Kenny) Dillingham, Coach (Chris) Marve, and Coach Norvell.”
What’s Coach Thomsen like?
“He’s a great guy! Love the way he coaches, and the amount of experience he has with the game!”
Were you able to take in a practice?
“Yes, sir. They ran it great! Very upbeat and just a great practice.”
Were you able to interact with any of the current players?
“No. I was able to get right up close with the tight ends. Coach Thomsen and [Coach] Williams told me to stand right next to them, but I wasn’t able to talk to any of the players.”
Were you able to interact with any other recruits?
“Yes, sir, I was able to talk to a [couple] players I knew from Rockledge High School (Zach Lovett and Raheim Sanders).”
Where does FSU stand for you right now?
“I’m really interested in FSU, but I don’t have an offer. They’ll be high on my list if they offer.”
What other schools are currently up there for you?
“NC State, USF, UCF, Purdue, Louisville, UCLA, Georgia Tech, Miami, Maryland, and Indiana.”
Did FSU mention how you could earn an offer?
“Coach Norvell said they’re very excited about me, and that they’ll talk to me soon.”
What else did Norvell have to say?
“He told me what family meant to him and just gave me the basis of how the FSU program is [run], and that he’s ecstatic about me.”
If FSU offered, would you commit on the spot?
“Not on the spot. I’d want to check it out again and get a better feel of everything before making a big decision.”
Do you have a return visit scheduled?
“Not yet. Me and my family will plan one later.”
What are the most important things for you when looking for a college?
“I want to be on a team that has a family-culture, coaches that I can talk to and have a great relationship with, and where I’ll be utilized at tight end to the best of my ability.”
Do you model your game after anyone?
“I look up to Rob Gronkowski and Travis Kelce. Two legendary tight ends.”
Anything you want to add?
“Just that I’m so blessed to be in the situation I’m in, and I wouldn’t be where I am right now without God’s guidance.”
