TN caught up with Somerville recently and got an in-depth look at his finalists and more:

If you don’t mind, would you give us the reasoning behind each school on your list?

“FSU made the cut because of my relationship with the coaching staff—Coach Dillingham has recruited me since I was a freshman and has been with me every step of the way.

New Mexico made the cut because of what Coach Gonzales is doing and of course my brother (Jordan) being out there (Recruiting Coordinator for the Lobos).

Georgia made the cut because of the brand of football they play, and the players they have produced, especially on defense. Coach Lanning (DC) has also been with me throughout this process, which is why I think highly of them!

Vanderbilt made the cut because of the relationship I have built with coach KU (Kenechi Udeze), as he has been one of the realest coaches I have met, and he cares greatly about my family and [me], and also wanting to build me into a greater player and man.

Michigan made the cut because when I took a visit there I fell in love with the place and clicked with the coaches greatly.

Utah made the cut because of the defensive ends they have produced recently, and the level [at which] they play—it’s also located [where] my grandparents live.

Washington made the cut because of the mix of academics and football—they also put a player from my school (Byron Murphy) in the NFL, which is very intriguing.

ASU made the cut because of the proximity from home and the fact I grew up a Sun Devil.”

Do you plan to visit Florida State?

“I have a tentative visit to FSU scheduled for June 8th, but obviously that’s subject to change with what’s going on right now—I really hope I can get out there, though!”

What’ll be the deciding factors for you when choosing a school?

“Some of the things [that’ll] go into my commitment [are] education, the coaching staff, development, and, of course, putting players in the NFL!”

When do you hope to have a final decision made?

“As of right now, I’m hoping to make a commitment before Signing Day.”
