Jacoby Jackson is a 6’6 320 pound offensive tackle from Arlington, TX.
The Class of 2021 prospect attends Mansfield Summit High School and has an 85 rating (3*) from the 247 Sports Composite List. The sites consider him the 931st best player in America (88th best OT and 152nd best player in Texas).
Jackson has offers from Arizona, Baylor, Boise State, California, Duke, Houston, Indiana, Iowa State, Kansas, Mississippi State, Northwestern, Oklahoma State, Ole Miss, Purdue, TCU, Texas Tech, Utah, Vanderbilt, and Washington State, among others.
In early May, he was offered by Florida State:
Jackson wasn’t surprised by the FSU offer, but he was “very excited.”
He spoke to offensive line coach Alex Atkins who told the massive lineman they did their due diligence and were excited to offer.
Jackson wouldn’t necessarily say Florida State moved to the top of his list, but the Seminoles joined TCU, Texas Tech, Baylor, Oklahoma State, Arizona, Cal, Utah, Ole Miss, and Mississippi State at the top.
As for his game? He mentioned the need to continue working on “playing lower,” but said he’s a “FINISHER” (his emphasis). In that vein, he looks up to Tyron Smith, Quenton Nelson, Joe Staley, and Trent Williams because they’re “big-time finishers and freak athletes.”
Jackson listed several important factors when making his final choice:
- A place where I can get a good education and earn my degree.
- I want to play in a family-oriented program.
- I want to play for somebody who will help develop my skills so I can get to the next level.
He plans to visit Tallahassee when the Dead Period’s over, and he hopes to make his final decision around the start of next season.
