TN caught up with Givens to get his thoughts on the offer and gain a better look at his recruitment:
How was the offer presented, and what’d it mean to you?
“I got the offer through a call with Coach Atkins. The offer means a lot—Florida State is a big-time program.”
What did Coach Atkins say?
“[He] said with my rare agility and size, I could definitely make an impact early.”
What do you know about Florida State?
“I love [Chief Osceola], and the spear in the middle of the field before the game.”
Do you have a visit scheduled to FSU?
“Not yet because of this corona outbreak.”
But you’re planning to get down to Tallahassee when it’s over?
“As long as I can get down there, for sure.”
Did you grow up a fan of any team?
“I grew [up] right outside of Virginia Tech, so I grew up watching [them], but I’m showing no favoritism to any school.”
How would you describe your game?
“I would say aggressive [and] explosive off the ball.”
What player(s) do you model your play after?
“I don’t necessarily model myself after any players, but if I [were] to give you [a] player reference on offense, I’d say Gronk (Rob Gronkowski), and say lengthy like Jadeveon Clowney, but technique like Aaron Donald.”
What are you looking for in a school?
“At the end of the day it’s mostly about where I feel at home, and I can trust the people around me.”
