TJ Shanahan is a 6’5 300 pound offensive tackle from Orlando, FL.
The Class of 2023 prospect attends Timber Creek High School.
Shanahan doesn’t yet have a ranking, as he’s a rising sophomore, but he already holds offers from Arizona State, Florida, Georgia, Georgia Tech, LSU, Miami (FL), Michigan State, Nebraska, Oregon, South Carolina, Tennessee, UCF, USC, and West Virginia, among others, so it’s seemingly just a matter of time.
In April, he was offered by Florida State:

TN caught up with Shanahan recently to discuss his early success, as well as his FSU recruitment:
What was your reaction to the FSU offer?
“I like the program a lot, and I was very excited.”
How’d you get the offer—did Coach Atkins call you?
“No, I reached out to Coach Atkins.”
What was that conversation like?
“The conversation was great—he mentioned he really liked my film; he also said he wanted me to visit the school as soon as possible. Planning to visit the school when everything clears up.”
What other schools do you hope/plan to visit?
“As of right now, I plan to visit all the schools that have offered me when things get better.”
Before we get too far, I know you have family relations with Florida (Jon Halapio)—did you grow up a Gators fan?
“I did, but as I got older, I started to like all the teams in Florida: FSU, UF, and Miami.
Also was coached by an FSU great, Mr. Andre Cooper, and still [am] very close to him today.”
Is anyone standing out for you right now?
“Not at this time.”
How would you describe your game?
“Honestly, I’d say I’m a very aggressive and tenacious football player.”
What player(s) do you look up to/model your game after?
“One player I’d always watch was Larry Allen from the Dallas Cowboys. Another player I look up to is David Bakhtiari from the Green Bay Packers.”
What are the biggest things you’re looking for in a school?
“To have great synergy with the coaching staff, and also find a good fit with the academic side.”
I know it’s way early for you, but any idea what you want to study in school?
“I like the business field and sports management.”
