Florida State football, recruiting news: NCAA extends recruiting dead period

It’s going to be a few more months before recruits can start visiting again

Recruiting:

The NCAA has officially extended the recruiting dead period until August 31st; meaning that top-ranked commitments like Branden Jennings & Luke Altmyer won’t be able to visit until the season starts at least.

The school you’re committed to, young man:

Speaking of Altmyer he was invited to the Elite11 Finals. He’ll compete against 21 other largely high-ranked quarterbacks for the honor of joining the Elite club.

FSU offered 2022 four-star offensive tackle Jacob Allen in May and he’s looking forward to visiting FSU.

2023 Offensive tackle Payton Kirkland has been offered by FSU out of Dr. Phillips High School; that’s Kenny Shaw’s old stomping grounds.

Football:

ACC Commissioners John Swofford is retiring.

Marvin Wilson has been named to another pre-season First-Team All-American list.
