It was announced Thursday evening that Florida State football quarterback commit Luke Altmyer was added to the Elite 11 competition. When Tomahawk Nation spoke to Altmyer he confirmed he was extended an invite during a phone call with Brian Stumpf, and he was very short and to the point with his reaction: “very excited.”
The 6-foot-2 signal caller from Mississippi has had quite the month of June. First, Altmyer saw a rankings bump which brought him to his current composite 4-star ranking, although 247 still has him as a 3-star. Next, Altmyer was named to the 2021 Under Armour All-American game. And then Thursday, to complete the trifecta, Altmyer got the invite to the annual Elite 11 quarterback competition, which came with this ironic tweet:
We had Altmyer on our list of 5 QBs we wished we’re going to E11. Excited to see him in the mix. https://t.co/2Uyz02000D

The turnaround will be quick for the vocal Florida State commit, as the Elite 11 event begins June 29th in Nashville, Tennessee. The Florida State Seminoles were able to get Altmyer on campus in January and secure his commitment in early February. FSU appears to have struck gold as Altmyer’s stock has been on the rise since the beginning of the year.
