TN caught up with Ward recently to learn more:
How did you receive the offer?
“Coach Woodson called and told my dad they wanted to offer me, and I received the news from my dad.”
What was your reaction to the FSU offer?
“I was shocked and happy, and the offer made me even happier because it felt like a birthday present coming from FSU.”
Are you planning to visit FSU when the Dead Period is over?
“Yes, my dad and I are planning to come down to visit this summer.”
Where else do you guys hope/plan to visit?
“Clemson, Virginia Tech, and Georgia Tech.”
What position do you plan/expect to play in college?
“Wide receiver.”
How do you describe your game?
“Explosive route running, being able to catch the ball in traffic, and fighting for yards after the ball is in my hand.”
What player(s) do you model your game after?
“When I was little, I received the nickname ‘Meg’ because they said I always played like Calvin Johnson, but I also try to model my game after DeAndre Hopkins.”
What are the biggest things you’re looking for in a school?
“A good academic school and [to] feel part of the team.”
Since you mentioned academics—any idea what you want to study?
“Business or something in the medical field probably.”
