Per a report from Noles247, defensive tackle signee Emanuel “Manny” Rogers will not report to Florida State for the upcoming season. He’ll instead enroll in a junior college.
The news is a big hit to the Florida State Seminoles’ 2020 class as Rogers was the only defensive tackle signed last cycle. Additionally, Florida State is set to lose Marvin Wilson to graduation after this season. Also, many believe Cory Durden will declare for the NFL. This news would have been even more impactful if Florida State had not secured the transfer of Mississippi State defensive tackle Fabien Lovett this past week.
Rogers was a composite 4-star with great size, measuring in at 6-foot-5, 330 pounds. He was ranked as a top-400 recruit and considered a top-40 defensive tackle nationally.
With Rogers’ departure from the 2020 class, Florida State could possibly use this open spot for an additional transfer. For all of the latest news and updates surrounding Florida State recruits and commits, check out Tomahawk Nation’s recruiting thread.
