Florida State football recruiting: FSU fails to make final 5 for blue-chip offensive tackle

After making the cut on another blue-chip tackle, FSU was trying to add another

@Leigh71Tristan

UPDATE: Leigh has cut down his schools to the LSU Tigers, Clemson Tigers, Ohio State Buckeyes, Alabama Crimson Tide and Oklahoma Sooners.

While offensive tackle remains a need in Tribe 21, Florida State Seminoles offensive line coach Alex Atkins, since he’s arrived in Tallahassee, has put FSU in a position to bolster up the trenches.

Just last week, Florida State made the final six cut for five-star offensive tackle Amarius Mims, the no. 6 player in the country:

Today, fellow five-star and offensive tackle Tristian Leigh is announcing his top five, and given his recent unofficial visit to Tallahassee (as first reported by 247Sports) and close relationship with Coach Atkins, chances are looking high.

Florida State made his final 15 back in May, having been pursuing the tackle heavily since offering the Virginia prospect in January:

Out of Robinson Secondary High School in Fairfax, VA, Leigh carries a 99 rating (5-star) on 247Sports Composite List. Ranked as the 11th best player in America (3rd best offensive tackle and best player in the state of Virginia) Clemson, LSU, and Ohio State are among the presumed favorites for Leigh’s services.
