TN caught up with Jointer after the offer to learn more:
Who’d you speak to when getting the offer?
“Coach Norvell and Coach YAC (David Johnson).”
What were those conversations like?
“Coach Norvell was talking about how he‘d love to get some guys from Arkansas to join him in Tallahassee because he played here, as well, and he really liked my film and wants me to get on campus ASAP.
Coach YAC was just beyond excited to extend me the offer—it was pretty big because I grew up watching some FSU backs.”
Which backs are you referring to?
“Of course I watch Cam Akers, but Dalvin Cook, and Devonta Freeman, [too].”
How would you describe your game to someone who hasn’t watched you play?
“I’d say I’m all around speed back because I can move to different positions and make plays through the passing or running game.”
What player(s) would you say you look up to and/or model your game after?
Todd Gurley & Alvin Kamara.”
What do you like about each?
“Todd is considered a tall back, and Alvin is a very good speed back with good hands.”
Do you plan to visit FSU when the Dead Period is over?
“Most definitely!”
Where else do you plan/hope to visit?
“Maybe Memphis during the season.”
What are the biggest things you’re looking for in a school?
“Making sure I’m going to be good academically and can be successful with football and make sure it’s a place that I can forever call home because this not a 4 year decision, it’s a 20 year decision.”
