JyVonte McClendon includes Florida State in his top four

Shaping up to be another in-state battle on the trail.

JyVonte McClendon is a 6’2, 180 pound defensive back from Lakeland, FL. The Class of 2022 prospect attends Lake Gibson High School and has a 86 rating (3-star) from the 247 Sports Composite List. The sites consider him the 454th best player in America (26th best safety and 54th best player in Florida).

He was offered by the ‘Noles in April.

Friday, in what is shaping up to become an in-state recruiting battle, he announced a top 4 of Florida State, Florida, Miami (FL), and Oklahoma:

McClendon also holds offers from Auburn, Georgia Tech, Nebraska, Penn State, and Pittsburgh, among others. UF is considered the leader, but there is a long way to go before McClendon inks his name anywhere. He’s thought to translate best to safety, but depending on how much he grows, that could change. Marcus Woodson and Odell Haggins are leading the way in his FSU recruitment.
