Jaylen Sneed overwhelmed by Florida State offer

Jaylen Sneed is a 6’2 207 pound outside linebacker from Hilton Head Island, SC.

The Class of 2022 prospect attends Hilton Head High School and has a 96 rating (4-star) from the 247 Sports Sports Composite. The sites consider him the 89th best player in his class (5th best OLB and 2nd best player in South Carolina).

Sneed has offers from Alabama Crimson Tide, Auburn Tigers, Florida Gators, Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, Michigan Wolverines, N.C. State Wolfpack, North Carolina Tar Heels, Oklahoma Sooners, Oregon Ducks, Tennessee Volunteers, Texas Longhorns, Virginia Tech Hokies, USC Trojans, and West Virginia Mountaineers, among others.

What was your reaction to the FSU offer?

“Surprised and excited.”

Who called and what was the conversation like?

“Coach Marve—he basically said he had watched my film and loved the way I attacked the ball and the aggression I play with, and he’d love for me to come play for FSU.”

And what’d that mean to you?

“It’s overwhelming, but a great overwhelming feeling of excitement.”

Do you hope/plan to visit FSU when the Dead Period is over?

“Yes.”

What other schools are on that list for you?

“I’m not for sure, but my mom says we’ll visit some that are within driving distance.”

Did you grow up a fan of any school(s)?

“Alabama, Oregon, and Ohio state.”

You’ve gotten two of three offers there—that must be pretty exciting!

“Yes, sir, it is.”

What do you know about Florida State?

“I know they [have] great alumni, excellent education, and a great coaching staff.

And it’s not far from home.”

How do you describe your style of play to those who haven’t watched you?

“Physical and downhill.”

What player(s) do you look up to/model your game after?

Jadeveon Clowney.”

What are the biggest things you’re looking for in a school?

“Coaching staff, major I’m looking for, and best fitting defense.”
